Baby shower gift idea

Questions and Answers

baby gift.....something different///any ideas???

Q) One of my closest friends is having a baby (sex unknown) and we are holding a baby shower for her. Iwant to buy a gift for either the baby or the parents that is different and original. I have already bought a book that meant something to me as a child for the baby's library I'll spend up to £50.Any ideas????

A) A Diaper Cake!! (A Nappy Cake!) I always take a large diaper cake to a baby shower because they are so special. Check out: http://www.diapercakewalk.com/viewallcakes First, everyone loves them. This week I took one to a shower for my BodyStep instructor. Ladies just crowd around them and ask a million questions. They are great conversation pieces. Second, they are gorgeous centerpieces at a baby shower, and they can even be used to play a guessing game - give a prize to whoever can guess most accurately how many diapers and what supplies the cake is constructed with. And the best part, is that mom-to-be gets to take the centerpiece home as a very unique and memorable gift, and she now has a landslide of diapers and supplies for the new baby. In a year, she won't remember who gave her the onesies or the baby bottles, but you can bet she will remember your diaper cake and smile!! This website has lots of gender neutral cakes to choose from! This is my favorite gift for an expectant mother! Make sure you check out the Poundcakes and the Diaper-Only Cakes, they are pretty inexpensive. Happy hunting!!

Baby shower gift idea for another baby girl???

Q) A friend of mine is having a baby shower again!! She is having another baby girl after having one a year and a half ago. This will be her fourth child and all girls. This time it's a princess theme. She has plenty of toys, girl clothes, baby story books, and every thing else you can imagine. I want to try to be more creative than giving the usual diapers, wipes, lotion etc...Something that can be used for a long time. I thought about a gift certificate for her and her husband to go out to eat but that can only be used once...any ideas?? Thought about making a diaper cake but I want to do something different. I'm in a creative mood but no ideas. Ohhh and by the way...the shower is in 1 and a half days, so not much time. Thanks in advance for your brilliant ideas!!!

A) how about this baby picture frame, one picture for each month http://www.dazzleconcepts.com/servlet/the-250/Baby%27s-First-Year-Wall/Detail

Unique baby shower gift ideas for a basket I'm making?

Q) I'm making my friend a gift basket for her baby shower, filled with all kinds of fun stuff. She's a first time mom, her mother and father are dead and she had a REALLY hard time getting pregnant (6 miscarriages!!!) I really want to make this fun for her as well as extremely functional! I'm a mother myself and have put all the stuff I think she will need, but I need some more ideas...any help would be great! Thanks! Thanks for all of the comments so far, there are some really great ideas! For those who have said babysitting coupons, that would be great, but my friend lives out of state...so that wouldn't work too well for me. I was just going to purchase all of the things and then once I get to her house for the shower, put it all together.

A) I'm sure with you being a Mom yourself that you have the bases covered pretty well. Just in case, some of the things I would include would be: *Infant toiletry set (nail clippers, nasal aspirator, etc.) *Set of cloth diapers for burp cloths (or actual burping pads but they are more expensive) *The infant peekaboo mirror set that she can attach in the front of the car and peek in on her little one in the backseat while she is driving *A cardboard book or two (Goodnight Moon or Guess How Much I Love You are good choices) *Pacifier, rattles, baby bottle(s), socks, booties *Mommy brag book *receiving blanket, t-shirts/onesie(s), baby towel/washcloth set *Baby toy or small plush animal (the ones w/ the pull-down string w/ music are nice) These are just some things off the top of my head. I think this is wonderful what you are doing for your friend!! No matter what you pick I am sure she will appreciate you thinking of her. Congratulations to all!

Any unique baby shower gift ideas?

Q) I have a baby shower to go to on Monday and they pretty much have nothing for this poor kid yet and she's due in a week. I was wondering if anyone knows any unique gift ideas? Also what do any of you parents think is a must have with a new baby?

A) If the parents have NOTHING for the baby...it needs diapers, wipes, and clothes instead of something unique!!

Any really Unique baby shower gift ideas?

Q) Anyone have any great ideas for a really unique baby shower gift? First time parents, and the baby's gender is unknown...any ideas appreciated!

A) Give the parents to be a special card which once the child is born entitles them to a professional drawing of their newborn baby as a keepsake, give them an envelope addressed to the artist, and ask them to enclose the picture then pop it in the mail. Just purchase the to be work from a local artist you like. The artist will gladly wait for the picture to arrive so he can get the other half of his or her commission.

Unique baby shower gift ideas?

Q) Suggestions I DON'T want: baskets full of products--this is a common gift gift certificate for cleaning service--she already uses a cleaning service gift certificate for night out--this is a common gift gift certificate for babysitting--this is a common gift, and she has several family members nearby that are clamoring to babysit Diaper cakes or wreaths--I think they're overdone, and it's becoming a common gift Gift certificate to portrait studio--her dad is a photographer Gift certificate to a spa--she doesn't enjoy things like that I want to do something for her that's VERY unique, preferably even homemade. Relevant info: She is having a girl, but isn't announcing the name until the baby is born. She is 28, her husband is 29, and this is their first baby, and also the first grandchild on both sides. He is a pilot and she's an air traffic controller, but it's hard to find gift ideas that correlate with that that are not obviously for boys.

A) Have you tried looking at belly casting. What it is, is making a plaster mold of the mother belly. The plastering is something that can be done between the mother and father in a private setting. Or it can be done at the baby shower with group of the mother friends. It's up to her. Doing the casting does not take a long time to complete. After the cast is complete is can be fiberglassed and decorated. Depending if you get the kit before the shower you can plaster the mothers belly, then have the belly fiberglassed and the guest of the shower can decorated at the shower. That would be great gift for the mother. I got a belly cast for one of my girlfriends and her husband. The company I got my kit and fiberglassing from is Original Belly Works. The site is www.originalbellyworks.com I hope you find a great gift for the shower.

Q) I'm headed to a baby shower for a baby girl. What is something differnt that I could give her that might stand out. I only want to spend about 30 dollars since I have to travel as well.

A) A friend of mine made for another friend, a whole little tye-dyed outfit, the sleeper, hat, mitts, socks... it was SO cute on the baby once she was born. Not to many babies in pink tye-dye but it was SOOOO precious. She started with little pink stuff and dyed with barbie pink. I gave a friend from university a blanket with our university logo on it, she loved it. Spend money on a share in a good company and give her that... if it grows its something that will REALLY stand out! Good luck, I hope i might have inspired your creative juices. Oh yes, I just got a shower invitation this week, it had a list of registered and non-registered items. One thing they asked for was a small tree... I just saw some at Home Depot, planted, for like $25....

What are some unique baby shower gift ideas that cost under $30?

A) I get a basket or box and fill it with stuff most people don't think of, hangers for baby clothes 1.00 at walmart nail clippers for baby .97 at walmart medicine pacifier (very useful) 2-3.00 at walmart wipies 2.00 bibs 2-3.00 teeting toys 1-2.00 extra bottles 2-3.00 baby spoon 1-2.00 everything is from walmart. I usually just go through the baby isle and anything I used and didn't get at my shower, that is what I get. If you have never had a baby, then ask your mom or a friend what they used the most.

No clue what to put in Baby Shower gift bags??? Also, need idea's for games!!?

Q) I'm throwing my bro's fiance a baby shower this Sunday, pleeeease help!! Thank you!

A) I know a friend for the prizes gave away gerber daisy's which was a cool flower for a baby shower because of the name. You could also depending on the theme of the shower give away things like soap, bath bubbles, lotion, bath beads and but them into a small cheap/generic baby bottle or baby food jar. For game ideas here are some classics i know of: - A really fun game to play is where you have to guess with a piece of string how big around the mommy-to-be belly is. To play this all you need is yarn, scissors and the mommy! You go around and have the each person cut off a piece of yarn. Once everyone has one they each go put their yarn and wrap it around the mommy's tummy putting their finger on the spot where the yarn meets and then everyone compares to see who guessed the closest. - Another game is tasting baby food and guessing what kind it is. - You can do guess the baby riddle where you print out a piece of paper with parts of a baby riddle like for example: 'how i wonder where you are' and then they have to write down the name of the song/riddle. - Another cool idea for a baby shower that i did was i provided cards and a envelope to each guest and then had them draw a number from a bowl and then they had to write a birthday card to the baby at that age. Then the mommy gets to take them home and store them some place safe to give to the baby at each of it's birthdays! Hope this helps! = )
